Under the support of the maintenance and reconstruction project of the major science and technology infrastructure of the Chinese Academy of Sciences ("ASTR") and the Institute of Plasma, the Cryogenic Engineering and Technology Research Laboratory recently completed the transformation of the EAST cryogenic system compressor station.
EAST cryogenic system The helium compressor stands on the basis of the original system, adds a highly efficient helium screw compressor group, optimizes the cooling mode, and makes the operation of the cryogenic system more stable and efficient. The original helium compressor system continues to be retained as a backup and stoop. After the transformation, all the pipelines of the rolling station are replaced with stainless steel pipes to replace the existing corroded carbon steel pipelines and are erected above the ground. They are arranged separately from the cable lines, which reduces the leakage of helium and is conducive to overhaul and maintenance.
In order to reduce the environmental pollution caused by the noise during the operation of the press, the entire laboratory was treated with noise reduction and noise control, which effectively blocked the noise caused by the operation of the compressor on the scientific research and work of the area. At the same time, the ground, walls, and lighting of the press station have also been updated, making the laboratory a brand new look.
The reformed EAST cryogenic helium compressor system is stable in operation, and its performance and various indicators have reached the expected goals.
