The recoverable elements in the Suyekebei nickel polymetallic ore in Xinjiang's Toli County are mainly nickel and cobalt. The ore contains 0.19% nickel and 0.011% cobalt. The nickel minerals are mainly in the form of sulfides, with an occupation rate of 60%-65%. . Followed by nickel silicate, the occupancy rate is about 27%, and the nickel oxide occupancy rate is about 10%. The overall size of nickel minerals is fine, 77.87% is distributed in the order of 0.01 mm or less, and the ore is difficult to sort. Serpentine and talc are the major gangue minerals in this ore and are highly metamorphic minerals. Its mineral characteristics are poor crystallization, low hardness, easy to mud, and seriously affect the selection index during the flotation process.

According to the characteristics of the samples, the Institute of Mineral Comprehensive Utilization of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences examined the effects of ball milling and rod grinding on the beneficiation and the effects of different grinding concentrations. The lime, sodium hydroxide and cationic polymerization agents were added to the grinding. The influence of modifiers such as pectin, the influence of a period of grinding and stage grinding. At the same time, the beneficiation process examined the full flotation process, re-election-flotation process, and heavy-magnetic-floating combined process plan. In addition, the flotation process examines the effect of flotation desilting, the effect of acid-base medium on beneficiation, the effect of adding activators such as copper sulfate and ammonium sulfate on the beneficiation index, and the addition of water glass, sodium hexametaphosphate, CMC, and fruit. The influence of inhibitors such as glue on beneficiation, the effects of butyl xanthate, amyl xanthate and J622 on beneficiation, the influence of 2# oil and MIBC different performance foaming agents. Through a large number of program and conditional combination test comparisons, the researchers believe that the heavy-floating combined ore dressing scheme is more suitable for the ore.

The recommended heavy-floating combined beneficiation scheme is: one-stage grinding, shaker pre-selection de-sludge, shaker coarse concentrate and then a coarse and two-fine open-circuit process. The obtained ore dressing test indicators are: 0.19% nickel in raw ore, including Cobalt is 0.011%, nickel concentrate contains 3.39% nickel, cobalt is 0.15%, nickel recovery rate is 31.24%, and cobalt recovery rate is 29.28%.

Observation of the flotation tailings by microscopy revealed that in addition to nickel silicate, nickel lost in tailings, some fine-grained nickel sulfide minerals were encased in gangue minerals or linked to gangue minerals. Nickel mineral inlays are fine-grained and difficult to dissociate, which is the root cause of the difficulty in increasing nickel recovery.

The research results of this project can be used as a technical basis for evaluating the selectivity of the ore, and it is applicable to technical transformation of the same type of mine or construction of new mines.
