ITER plans to successfully complete China's first purchase package

With the completion of the work, ITER plans to successfully complete the first procurement package in China. At 9 o'clock on December 18, ITER planned to hold the first procurement package completion ceremony in Hefei. The successful completion of the ITER TF conductor procurement package marks the successful completion of the first procurement package of China by ITER. Arnold David, head of ITER organization conductor, Comrade Cao Jianlin, former vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, deputy director of the China International Nuclear Fusion Energy Project Implementation Center, Luo Delong, deputy director of Anhui Science and Technology Department Luo Ping, vice president of the Hefei Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences Long Wanbaonian and TF conductor procurement package 15 cooperatives participated in the completion ceremony.

The maximum magnetic field strength is 12T, which is about 200,000 times that of the Earth's magnetic field.

The toroidal field (TF) conductor is the core component that generates a magnetic field and confines the plasma, including key technologies such as superconducting wire manufacturing and conductor integration. In the TF conductor, 4.2K (-269°C) liquid helium flows, the rated current is 68kA, and the maximum magnetic field strength is 12T, which is about 200,000 times that of the Earth's magnetic field.

The technical content of the TF conductor is relatively high, and it became a purchase package that all parties competed for in the initial stage of the negotiation. Six of the ITER's seven parties (China, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Russia, and the United States) share this task. With the cooperation of the ITER organization, the nuclear fusion center, and various suppliers, China has developed a batch manufacturing technology for Nb3Sn superconducting wires for TF conductors and integrated manufacturing technology for large-sized conductors. In accordance with ITER requirements, high standards complete technical certification, establish and improve the strict ITER quality management and process control system.

The first ITER plan purchase arrangement agreement signed by China

In 2008, the first ITER plan purchase arrangement agreement signed by the Chinese party was the TF conductor procurement package arrangement agreement. Since May 29, 2009, the first sample of China passed the SULTAN laboratory certification test prescribed by the ITER organization, and it was successfully started on August 14, 2011. As of May 22, 2015, the last TF conductor short conductor experiment was conducted. At the end, all Chinese conductor test samples passed the SULTAN test at one time.

China's first completed ITER procurement package, achieving 100% product localization and 100% product quality meeting requirements

The TF conductor procurement package is China's first completed procurement package, achieving 100% localization of products and 100% product quality. The successful completion of this task is an important milestone for China's participation in the ITER program. It also proves that China's large-scale superconducting conductors have been developed and industrialized at a world-class level, laying a solid foundation for future nuclear converging nuclear fusion in China.

The technical development of the TF conductor procurement package has promoted the development of related industries such as domestic advanced materials, precision manufacturing, and large-scale equipment, and promoted the development of related disciplines such as materials, applied superconducting technology, and cryogenic engineering, and realized super The localization and industrialization of conductive materials, superconducting cables, excellent low-temperature stainless steel tubes, and large superconducting conductors.
