Gravity balancing machine

Gravity balance machines and centrifugal balance machines are two types of typical balancing machines. Gravity balancing machines are generally referred to as static balancing machines. It relies on the gravity of the rotor itself to measure static imbalance.

As shown in the figure to the right, if the rotor placed on the two horizontal rails has an unbalanced amount, its heavy moment against the axis causes the rotor to roll on the guide rail until the unbalanced amount is at the lowest position.

The balanced rotor is placed on a support supported by a hydrostatic bearing, and a mirror is embedded under the support. When there is no unbalance in the rotor, the light beam emitted by the light source is reflected by the mirror and projected to the origin of the polar coordinate of the unbalance indicator. If there is an unbalanced amount of the rotor, the rotor bearing is tilted under the unbalanced weight and the mirror under the support is tilted and the reflected beam is deflected, so that the beam is cast on the polar coordinate indicator. Click to leave the origin. According to the coordinate position of this light spot deflection, the magnitude and position of the unbalance amount can be obtained.

The gravity balancer is only suitable for some disc-shaped parts that are not well balanced. For rotors with high balance requirements, centrifugal single-sided or double-sided balancing machines are generally used.
