Polish scientists study successful production of quantum cascade laser technology

According to the Polish Press Agency, the Warsaw Institute of Electronics Technology in Poland recently researched the successful manufacture of quantum cascade lasers.

Quantum cascade lasers are currently the latest form of semiconductor lasers. Since its introduction in 1994, it has not been used commercially for a long time.

This value is three times higher than the design value. Quantum cascade lasers consist of hundreds of semiconductor layers called superlattices. The change in the number of superlattice layers is determined according to the design pattern and typically reaches several nanometers. Quantum cascade lasers use a laser transmission mechanism in a unique way in semiconductor materials.
