Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' gear grinding machine for high-precision machining of main reduction gears for passenger cars

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will launch the gear grinding machine "ZE24A" which can process workpieces with a maximum diameter of 240 mm on October 1, 2006. This product is equivalent to a high-end model of the "ZE15A" with a maximum diameter of 150mm for machined workpieces. Thanks to its application to larger workpieces, the passenger car's main reduction gear (FinalGear) can also be machined with high precision.

The ZE24A has the same specifications as the ZE15A, but the drive from the direct drive to the traction drive. In addition, as the diameter of the workpiece increases, the diameter of the console is increased from 150 mm to 200 mm, and the distance above the surface of the console is increased from 310 to 710 mm to 360 to 760 mm.

8-axis NC (CNC machining) machining is available. The position of the coolant nozzle is also NC adjustable, providing optimum cooling and chip removal at any time. Increased input convenience with a 12.1-inch LCD screen and enhanced operability with conversational software. In terms of safety, the front door is equipped with an electromagnetic lock as standard. Equipped with a wheel guard to safely change workpieces while the wheel is rotating.

The company is scheduled to exhibit the ZE24A at the "JIMTOF2006 (23rd Japan Machine Tool Show)" (Tokyo Ariake International Convention and Exhibition Center) held from November 1st to 8th, 2006.
