The Dalingshan Furniture Library, with a total investment of about 150 million yuan, is a municipal key project. Construction began in November 2009 and was successfully capped in September last year. The library has five floors and a total construction area of ​​nearly 40,000 square meters. The library fills the gap of the special library in the field of furniture in China, and at the same time solves the regional problems of furniture literature information service through advanced network management platform and provides world-class furniture information service. This will provide strong support for Dalingshan's bigger furniture industry, which is the "first furniture export town in China".
According to the person in charge of the preparatory office of the library in the town, after the library is built, it will be collected through publishing houses, industry associations, and document donation. It mainly collects documents related to the furniture industry, including furniture history, furniture industry documents, and furniture. There are seven major categories such as industry chain related literature, art appreciation and theoretical research literature, furniture newspapers, furniture enterprise resources, and furniture sample catalogs. The library plans to collect 200,000 to 250,000 volumes, of which 50,000 are professional furniture books.
The reporter learned that the library plans to divide it into four areas: data area, reading area, industrial R & D area, and leisure exhibition area according to the three functional requirements of document borrowing, research and development, and exhibition. Among them, the leisure exhibition area is planned to be located in the lobby on the first floor to provide home furnishing enterprises with venues for product sample display, as well as various cultural activities with furniture as the theme.
