What do you identify on the plastic box?

In daily life, the plastic container we use has a triangular logo surrounded by arrows. The triangle has numbers and letters inside. These numbers and letters represent the material and use of the plastic box: No. 1 (PET) is mostly used for mineral water and beverage bottles; No. 2 is used for daily chemical containers such as shampoo and body wash; No. 3 (PVC) is mostly used for raincoats. Building materials; No. 4 (LDPE) is mostly used for plastic wrap, etc.; No. 7 (PC) is mostly used for cups and bottles. The remaining No. 5 (PP) and No. 6 (PS) are materials that are often used to make packing boxes. PP is an abbreviation for Polypropylene, and PS stands for Polystyrene. The PP box has strong stability, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. The PS box is thin and has high transparency. It is often used to make sushi and fruit boxes.

Among the current food grade plastics, the only one that can be heated in a microwave oven is a PP product. In other words, there is a 5th logo on the packing box, which can be considered for putting it into the microwave oven. As for other plastics, some are not resistant to high temperatures and will be dissolved by heat. Some contain plasticizers, bisphenol A and other ingredients. Heating will release harmful chemicals, so they cannot be put into the microwave for heating. In addition, the regular plastic packaging box in addition to the triangle logo, there is a special English description, therefore, there is no logo on the box, when you can not determine the material, you should not heat.

After understanding the logo and basic features, we can select and use the plastic packaging box with “one look, two pinch, three smells”. When packing, first check whether there is a triangle mark and microwave instructions on the plastic box. PPP material is preferred. Beware of the color packing box, the chemical materials used for coloring will decompose harmful components after being heated. By pinching, selecting a packing box that has a certain thickness and is not easily torn and deformed, and some thin soft packing boxes are likely to be made of other kinds of plastic or waste plastic. In addition, the qualified packaging box is odorless and has a pungent smell, which is an untested unqualified product.
