To distinguish between true and false fertilizers, pay attention to "four points"

As the spring broadcast approached, the majority of peasant consumers began to purchase fertilizer for the spring sowing reserve. In order to reduce farmers' losses and enhance their ability to identify, Ningxia Industry and Commerce Bureau reminded farmers to pay attention to the four methods of distinguishing between true and false fertilizers.

One is the visual identification method. Fertilizers produced by regular manufacturers are packaged and sturdy, and are accompanied by production licenses, implementation standards, registration licenses, trademarks, product names, nutrient content (grade), net weight, plant name, site, and telephone number. The packaging of counterfeit and inferior fertilizers is generally rough, the information on the packaging bags is unclear, the quality is poor, and it is easy to break.

The second is the hand touch recognition method. Put the fertilizer on the palm of your hand, hold it firmly or press it to change the fertilizer according to your hand. If there is a layer of gray-white powder on the hand and the quality of the adhesive is good, grab a handful of fertilizer and hold it several times. The "oil, wet" feeling is genuine, while the dry one is likely to be pretending.

The third is the olfactory recognition method, which is simply judged by the special smell of the fertilizer. For example, ammonium bicarbonate has a strong ammonia odor, ammonium sulfate has a slightly sour taste, superphosphate has a sour taste, and the counterfeit and inferior fertilizer has a odor.

The fourth is the combustion identification method. The fertilizer sample is heated or burned to identify the fertilizer from the color of the flame, the melting condition, the smell of the smoke, the residue, and the like. Ammonium bicarbonate and ammonium chloride are directly decomposed, and a large amount of white smoke occurs, which has a strong ammonia smell and no residue. Urea can melt quickly, emit white smoke, burn in a charcoal fire, or take a piece of glass to contact white smoke, you can see a layer of white crystals attached to the glass.
