Ruian Xianjiang Town shoe company collectively negotiates employee income

In recent days, representatives of trade unions from local industries in Xianjiang and Bai Lai enterprises have participated in the signing ceremony of collective wage negotiation in Xianjiang Town. The agreement stipulates that the company will determine new salary standards for the next year based on the development of the company through collective wage negotiations. The move will enable hundreds of enterprises in the town to determine a regional guaranteed salary through the form of wage negotiations and provide protection for the income of more than 40,000 migrant workers.

Xianjiang is a well-known shoe production base in the country. Because the footwear industry is easily affected by the season and foreign trade, the income of workers is not stable and workers are easily lost. Under the leadership of the local government, in recent years, 50 footwear enterprises in Xianjiang Town have determined the minimum wage for workers in the form of corporate conventions and have effectively guaranteed the employees' income.

"Currently participating in the establishment of a minimum guaranteed wage contract is about 50 Xianxian enterprises." Wei Yuxi, chairman of Xianjiang Town Labor Union, said: "After this meeting, more than 100 enterprises will participate, and the monthly minimum guaranteed wage is expected to increase to around 1,700 yuan." In the future, Xianjiang Town Union will guide more enterprises in the region to participate in collective wage negotiations and form a regional wage security system.

“This provides industrial enterprises in our city with better experience in implementing collective wage negotiations.” Huang Deqi, secretary-general of the Municipal Entrepreneurs Association, believes that promoting collective bargaining over a wider area is to ensure that the interests of employees are not violated.
