China's welding health and safety work has begun in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Since the late 1960s, the development of low-dust and low-toxic welding rods, as well as a series of studies on the nature, mechanism and influencing factors of welding fumes, have achieved valuable results. In terms of health care, there are also mature medical theories about the effects of welding on the respiratory system, vision, hearing and nervous system. Moreover, in 1979, the Welding Society established the eighth professional committee, which is today's welding health and safety committee. The establishment of the Eighth Committee promoted the development of safety and health knowledge, and has been working to improve the welding environment, reduce welding occupational hazards, and ensure the safety and health of workers.
