China's natural gas accounted for 4.4 percent of primary energy in 2015

The National Energy Administration recently stated that the adjustment of China’s energy structure will be gradually advanced during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period. It is expected that by 2015, the proportion of China’s natural gas in primary energy will increase by 4.4 percentage points, and the share of hydropower and nuclear power in primary energy will increase by about 1.5 percentage points. The share of new energy such as wind power, solar energy and biomass energy in primary energy increased by 1.8 percentage points, non-fossil energy accounted for 11% of primary energy consumption, and the proportion of coal in primary energy consumption decreased from 70% in 2009 to 63%. At the same time, it will significantly change the situation in which the proportion of coal in China has remained high for many years.

In addition, in order to actively respond to global climate change and seize the opportunities for future strategic development, the National Energy Administration has organized development plans for emerging energy industries in accordance with the State Council's deployment and requirements, with regard to nuclear energy, wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy, and The specific deployment of natural gas and other new energy and renewable energy resources was made.
